Central Coast Run 16th-17th May

We woke Saturday morning to overcast and light showers. 

Unfortunately we were forced into a modern car not because of the rain, but due to a torn tendon in my right arm, a decision was made to go modern, as not only would the Studebaker be too heavy for my arm, but so would the TR4A, although both cars were fueled up and ready to go. 

We caught up with Graeme Lawrence and Tina and John and Pik Holliday at the ferry.

The Wombat Park Café is only 11kilometers from the ferry, what an excellent  venue to start a rally.

Most people had breakfast there, before starting out on a very pleasant drive along the Wiseman's Ferry Road towards Avoca Beach.

Although there was light rain for much of the way most people with open cars left their hoods down and as long as they were moving didn’t get wet.

At the Avoca Historic Picture Theatre we were served a very nice fish and chips lunch, before seeing a new release movie, A Royal Night Out, which was entertaining and quite humorous at times.

We then headed off to The Mercure at Kooindah Waters Golf Club where we had happy hour which included more than ample servings of finger food, before dinner served in the dining room.

The Mercure is a very plush hotel with generous size rooms and  undercover parking.

Sunday morning after a buffet breakfast with all the usual trimmings, we headed off on a very pleasant scenic drive to The Ken Duncan Gallery at Erina, where we were forced to eat scones with jam and real cream and drink copulas amounts of coffee or tea.

After morning tea we headed on another scenic drive to the Mangrove Mountain Golf club for lunch, not as plush as The Kooindah Waters Golf Club, but still very nice.

Like most people were still full from morning tea, so we  opted for the smallest meal, which was the soup.

After lunch people made their own way home and were home by mid afternoon.
